About Me

“Sometimes it is easier to talk to someone who is not part of your everyday life.”

Hello! I’m Cheryl

Licensed Therapist

Sometimes it is easier to talk to someone who is not part of your everyday life; someone who is qualified in helping you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and helping you to find different perspectives and meaning.  I offer a safe, confidential and “non-judgemental space to enable you to explore the things that matter to you.

“I believe that changes that come from within can be empowering and profoundly life changing”

I am a qualified, experienced Therapist working private practice in Mangotsfield, Bristol.  My therapeutic focus is on helping people being challenged by low self-esteem, bereavement, abuse, addiction and loss or grief.  The aim of our sessions is to help you have a better understanding of yourself, and support you alongside your counselling journey.

As a qualified Integrative Counsellor, I work from a person-centred base to ensure each session is a safe space that respects your thoughts and knowledge.  Working together we can explore your feelings and concerns and we will move at a pace that suits you.

My Approach & Values

When you are ready we will work towards an understanding of issues, gaining strength and exploring coping strategies if needed.  I recognise that every individual is different and I am able to draw on my skills as a therapist and use a range of theories which might be suitable.  This will enable an individual therapeutic relationship to develop according to your own needs.

"When dad died I thought a part of me went with him, working with Cheryl during my loss I was able to share my feelings and emotions with you. You never said you would be able to take the pain away but together we sat through the process and this enabled me a better understanding of my grief and we found a way that helped me move forward. "

"Having somewhere I could be my true self and express how difficult life is without judgement or criticism really helped me understand my childhood trauma. This helped me to see life differently and to be able to see a life without fear, threat or shame and that showing myself true compassion helped heal those raw feelings."

"For years I had been crippled with anxiety and depression, overthinking and always thinking the worst was going to happen, you helped me look at the causes and helped me find a way to look at things with a different view, helping me with my triggers, giving me strategies and my very own 'mental health tool kit' to manage these feelings, which has changed my life for so much better."

"Cheryl has helped me come to terms with troubled events in my life, gaining a better understanding of myself and accepting what has been. I have often ruminated over my past and have regretted decisions. Having a base where I can talk over my issues and feel heard and welcomed has made my counselling journey so much easier. I now realise I have a value in life and that has been life changing."
